THE RANCH

Patriot Ranch is located in the gentle rolling hills of Central Texas near the city of Brenham 72 miles Northwest of Houston.  The ranch encompasses 629 tranquil acres planted in prime Coastal Bermuda and alfalfa.  Scattered ponds, native trees, animal habitat and windbreaks, a restored 1800’s ranch house, main office, foreman and ranch hand cabins, equipment and hay sheds, pens, shoots and a main house that doubles as meeting facility are placed throughout the property. The ranch is noted for its natural beauty and understated development designed to blend with the landscape.

1800’s House

The 1800’s house was original to the property having been robustly built by German settler Friegen Van de Marque, a respected craftsman of the region.

The Schoenvoegel family has painstakingly restored the house making it notably eligible for historic landmark designation.  The cabin sits overlooking a gently sloping pasture framed by native oak trees and sited to catch the prevailing southerly breeze.  Porch-time is measured by coyote howls, barred owl sightings, meadow jackrabbits and a herd of native mule deer.  Migratory birds making their way up from South America are also frequent visitors.

The house is regularly used by the Schoenvoegels for family gatherings and doubles as guest lodging for friends and the occasional visiting chef anxious to see the origins of Patriot Prime Beef.
